MY BACKGROUND
I hold a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University. With over ten years of teaching experience and after earning multiple certifications in Virginia and Florida (English 6-12, English to Speakers of Other Languages [ESOL] K-12, and Exceptional Student Education [ESE] K-12), I am committed to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and capable.
One of my most rewarding experiences has been implementing the Institute for Excellence in Writing curriculum in a middle school setting. I’ve seen this systematic approach transform reluctant writers into confident communicators who are proud of their work.

EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe the purpose of education is to discover the glory of God as evidenced in:

a) creation and the creation order
b) the structure and beauty of math, science, and language
c) the unfolding of history according to God’s sovereign plan
d) man’s gift of rational thought and ability to make sense out of chaos.
As a Christian, I believe our purpose is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. Education is simply a tool to accomplish those ends.
